(PNS reporting from POCHO RICO)  San Juan Mayor Jorge Santini’s  Christmas card — which features a graphic interspecies love tryst — is “a good start,” the North American Man-Mammal Love Association (NAMMLA) enthused Wednesday.

“We’ve been after the mayor all year to get him to stand up for our right to love our furry neighbors as ourselves,” local NAMMLA leader Juan Don Gamera told a press conference in capital city San Juan.

“This card doesn’t go all the way,” the Boricuan said, “but when he’s not ashamed to show the lion lying down with the lamb, so to speak, it’s a good start.”

The photo, signed by Alcalde Jorge A. Santini-Padilla and his family, features a passionate embrace between a leopard and a reindeer.

Gamera dismissed criticism from Focus on the Family and other conservative groups who seek to limit the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman. The groups insist that approval of gay marriage will lead to acceptance of plural marriage, incest and bestiality.

“Oh, c’mon, we’re not like that,” said Gamera.  “We are strictly about men loving their fellow mammals. Who do these right-wing nut jobs think we are? We’re no chicken fuckers. Our motto is ‘If you don’t see tit, you can’t commit.'”

The mayor’s Christmas card went viral after it appeared on the Awkward Family Photos website. Gamera had no comment on the geometrically incorrect eight-lobed snowflakes.
