Hip Hop Hoodíos light ‘Ocho Kandelikas’ for Hanukkah

by Comic Saenz on December 19, 2011 in Cultura, Video

Happy Hanukkah from NoHo’s Hip Hop Hoodíos
Hanukkah begins at sunset on Tuesday, Dec. 20 and ends at sunset on Wednesday, Dec. 28: ocho noches, ocho kandelikas.

Here’s a more traditional (if big band salsa is traditional!) version of Ocho KandelikasValley cantor Kenny Ellis sings and swings. The lyrics are in Ladino, the Sephardic language with roots in Spanish and Hebrew. Cantor Ellis also swings  on the traditional I Have A Little Dreidel (The Dreidel Song.)

Why is that girl wearing bagels on her bra?

For Chanukah she should be wearing potato latkes!
