¡Mira los vintage VW bugs, Karmann Ghias, VW Things, Kombis, trucks, hot rods, and more! The Mexbugs car show in November — 12 Exhibición Nacional Volkswagen Vintage had them all.
After Kahlo’s death in 1954, her husband Diego Rivera shut her belongings in a bathroom at their Mexico City home, the Blue House, [video, below] the marvelous house they shared—and then insisted that it be locked up until 15 years after his death (which, in the event, happened in 1957).
In fact, the room wasn’t opened until 2004, when Ishiuchi Miyako was given permission to photograph its intimate contents.
The photographs will be on display at the Michael Hoppen Gallery in London from May 14 through July 12.
It was a bad day to be a purse snatcher on this bus in Chile. Three cheers for batman!
I thought it was going to be just another rainy winter day in Uruguay, another juan rides the bus, you know? We’re en route from Montevideo to Punta del Este when these “passengers” pulled out ornate steampunk-looking wooden and metal contraptions they called “instruments.” Then a viejo dressed for an earlier century gets onboard. Something about Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Mozart, they said:
Este fue un concierto primera clase, dirigido por el Maestro Federico García Vigil, un obsequio de COT a sus pasajeros, para celebrar la inauguración de nuestra nueva flota de última generación NEOBUS N10.
But you don’t need to ride the NEOBUS N10 to love Mozart. Here’s the complete First Movement of Mozart’s A Little Night Music with a graphical score video so you can follow along:
PREVIOUSLY ON HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD:
The Hate State of Arizona retained its leading position as the most anti-Latino state in the country as the witchy bitchy governor, Jan Brewer, decided that DREAMERS who apply for Deferred Action should be denied state service like drivers’ licenses.
Also in Arizona, husky humorist Gabriel Iglesias’ tour bus got pulled over for a papers check. In Texas, a humble farmworker released his income tax returns and asked GOP nominee wannabe Mitt Romney to do the same and POCHO offered Pro Tips for Latinos working in The Office.
These were the stories that broke the ñews this week:
I’m a 43-year old married woman, but I think I fell in love with a 20-year old guy. I know he thinks of me as his mother and I have hinted my feelings for him but was rejected flat. Am I going through menopause? Midlife crisis? I can’t stop thinking about him and it’s been almost a year since I last saw him. How do I get over this?
Dear Pendeja enamorada,
Being obsessed with a firm 20-year-old muchacho is not love but it is a sure bet that you are a healthy 43-year old woman. You’re married, you’re bored, you’re feeling like a vieja way before your years and you’re horny. It’s natural.
BTW – I’m curious as to why he thought of you as his mother when you are only 23 years older than he is.
Did you try getting him to suck your tetas when riding the bus by tossing a rebozo over his head and popping them out? Maybe he was just the wrong guy to try that on. There are a lot of sick puppies out there into that sort of thing. So, I’ve heard.
Adoringly, Tu Abuelita
