POCHO Jefe-in-Chief Lalo Alcaraz joined the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC Wednesday evening to discuss the fictional Daniel D. Portado character he created in 1994 to mock a racist California anti-immigrant measure. Lalo’s “self-deportation” hoax solution for undocumented residents was reborn last week as GOP hopeful Mitt Romney suggested “illegal” immigrants should “self-deport.”

I love the work and support the pointing out the buffoonery. I am from LA and use to work with CASA and did all the photography for Sin Fronteras. Keep pointing out the hate mongering and allowing those who get it, to have a laugh when we are feeling overwhelmed by ignorance.

I lived in California during the prop 187 days, and I wish I had known more about Daniel D Portado. I lived in a small rural town with little access to ‘big city’ media at the time. Brilliant satire!

Ingenious and creative.

You can become “The Colbert Report” satirist of the US immigration system and the anti-immigrant rage.

Actually, since you started in 1994, you were the very first “The Colbert Report”, he stole your idea.

Hilarious! Especially Telemundo not getting the joke. Haha.
