Chipotle to sell cannabis in California, Colorado, Oregon

chipotlesoon(PNS reporting from DENVER) Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning to introduce cannabis-based comida in California, Colorado and Oregon later this year, PNS has learned. The decision follows recreational marijuana’s legalization in the Golden State, which now joins its two neighbors on America’s High Frontier.

The new vegan/vegetarian product — dubbed Mota Al Pastor — will replace the reviled Sofrita tofu-based mock meat mezcla that has insulted palates since the chain’s opening. Mota al Pastor will be served in burritos, in tacos, and as a topping for nachos.

What is it? Huge 3-fingered ‘alien’ hand found in Peru (videos, photos)

First the Peruvians found an elongated unearthly skull. And now comes an astonishing new discovery: A strange, huge, 3-fingered hand.

MysteriousUniverse reports:

Less that two months after the revelation of the discovery in Peru of a tiny humanoid head comes another strange finding that is less humanoid and more alien-like. The hand has only three long fingers – no thumb – and has other strange characteristics that make its identity difficult. Does it belong to an alien who can no longer give its buddies a high-three? Are elongated fingers a sign the being also had an elongated skull?

Fifty-one years go – 1965 – big hair and girl groups were what all the cool kids dug in East Los Angeles.

Sisters Rosella, Ersi, and Mary Arvizu believed they could be the next Supremes — even before there were Supremes. They called themselves The Sisters.

Mark Guerrero, son of Chicano music legend Lalo Guerrero, tells the story:

Is this the worst taqueria video of 2016? Spoiler: It’s from France

otacosIs this the worst online taqueria video of 2016? Spoiler: No tacos were filmed in the making of this O’tacos video. P.S.: It’s from France.

It looks like O’tacos offers a “Philly” taco (suspiciously burrito-looking) which includes provolone cheese and grilled onions. How do they say “cheesesteak” in France?

Lay’s Potato Chips: Now with more racism! (1966 video)

Actor Bert Lahr — the Cowardly Lion in Wizard of Oz — plays both Christopher Columbus and a stereotyped Native American in this 1966 commercial for Lay’s Potato Chips. At least the Frito-Lay company recognized that taters are “local vegetation” before calling their hosts “Indian Givers.”

Ancient Amazon Stonehenge discovered in Brazil jungle (video)

“Stonehenge!” sang the world’s loudest band, Spinal Tap. “‘Tis a magic place, where the moon doth rise with a dragon’s face. Stonehenge! Where the virgins lie, and the prayers of devils fill the midnight sky.” But no druids were harmed in the discovery of a Stonehenge-like structure in the Brazilian jungle.
The NYTimes reports:

CALÇOENE, Brazil — As the foreman for a cattle ranch in the far reaches of the Brazilian Amazon, Lailson Camelo da Silva was razing trees to convert rain forest into pasture when he stumbled across a bizarre arrangement of towering granite blocks.

Hola! Aloha! Why so much Mexican food in small town Hawaii? (video)

Today we remember Rudy Martinez, a Mexican-American from San Diego who became the first Latino casualty of the Second World War when the Japanese sunk his ship, the U.S.S. Utah, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii 75 years ago today, December 7, 1941.

Martinez’ story inspired us to search for “Mexican” AND “Hawaii” and we found this video from Kapa’a High School on the (Garden) island of Kauai. The kids wanted to know why their small town of 10,000 — a community with just one Starbucks — was lucky enough to have nine Mexican restaurants.
