Bob Dylan, Norteño-style: ‘It Must Be Santa’ (music video)

Who’s got a beard that’s long and white?
Santa’s got a beard that’s long and white
Who comes around on a special night?
Santa comes around on a special night
Special night, beard that’s white
Must be Santa, must be Santa
Must be Santa, Santa Claus

(Listen closely as Bob Dylan lists Santa’s eight reindeer — names not in the official lyrics: “Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon; Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton”.)

Who was ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’? Three bands loved this chica! (videos)

Who was she? Who was the high-flying Guadalupe who inspired all the boys to sing about her hotness 50 years ago? The Righteous Brothers were first in 1963 with the original Little Latin Lupe Lu, followed by the Kingsmen, and then Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.

Orange County native Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, who wrote the song, said he was inspired by a girl he dated named Lupe Laguna. Where is Lupe Lu now? Medley tells the story in this YouTube interview:

Mas…Who was ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’? Three bands loved this chica! (videos)

Get Loqui! Spanglish mariachi cover of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ (video)

No, it’s not Juan Direction. It’s Sangre Azteca playing Uruapan Mexican Son the mariachi and Spanglish-ish version of Get Lucky by Daft Punk. You can hear these guys every Friday on the radio show Despierta Exa 6 to 10 AM, probably in some Mexican time zone, on Exa FM. Their Spanglish is more like Manglish.

Here are the English lyrics so you can follow along:

Los Lobos do it Disney style: ‘Heigh Ho Heigh Ho’ (music video)

Los Lobos, Los Angeles’ best band ever, dipped some pixie dust for this Disney music video from 2009. The group is portrayed by the seven dwarves who add new Spanglish lyrics to Heigh ho heigh ho, it’s off to work we go. Snow White, as white as ever, is the center of attention, dancing to the Lobos beat. In the final exciting scene, a somewhat less-white Prince Charming appears and it looks like he got his hair done by Ritchie Valens. YMMV.

Haters gonna hate! You Only Live Once: ‘Do Or Die’ (music video)

POCHO ALERT: Some of THOSE PEOPLE are hatin’ on Mexicore!

From heavy metal music site MetalInjection.net:

Yes, There Is A Mexicore Band Called YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE #YOLO (And The Singer Auditioned For AMERICAN IDOL) Just when I was getting really excited that a shitstain the likes of Attack Attack! broke up, Los Angeles’ You Only Live Once had to shit over my parade. MetalSucks by way of StuffYouWillHate alerted me to this atrocity and they mix pop-punk melodies with growl vocals. WHYYY?! JUST PICK ONE! I realize this assertion makes me sound old, and not “with it” but sometimes I feel it’s best to leave certain styles separate. I mean listen to this:

‘Play Hard’ is the David Guetta music video THEY don’t want you to see

David Guetta’s new Play Hard music video featuring Ne-Yo and Akon is just too much for some politically-correct pendejos including Defender of La Raza Perez Hilton. They be all hatin’ on the jainas licking paletas, the celebration of botas picudas, the firme cholos with tats. We say it has a good beat and it’s easy to dance to. WWFD? What Would Frida Do?

Cypress Hill, Rusko, Damian Marley: ‘Can’t Keep Me Down’ (video)

South Gate, CA homeboys Cypress Hill released Insane in the Brain (video, below) almost 20 years ago. It’s 2012, do you know where your brain is? Why here it is — up “amongst the clouds!”

This visually stunning new music video, Can’t Keep Me Down, is a Cypress Hill collaboration with dubstep producer Rusko and Damian Marley. You totally want to maximize your video player and crank your sound for this. (Possibly NSFW lyrics.)

Here’s your flashback:

Mayan Apocalyspe here? The Stones are all ‘Doom and Gloom’ (video)

It’s a brand new Rolling Stones song and it’s about zombies! No, it isn’t about Keef, even though it’s called Doom and Gloom. It’s about fracking, senseless wars, thieving politicos, heartless asshats, etc.

Mick Jagger saves the world of course:

[I] crash landed in the Louisiana swamp, shot up a horde of zombies but I come out on top
