There’s a former American Nazi Party official running on the GOP ticket for United States Congress in Illinois. Trump defended the Nazis who marched and murdered in Charlottesville. His administration demonizes and criminalizes the lives of people of color, non-Christians, LGBT citizens, and immigrants.

And in 1939, 20,000 Americans rallied in Madison Square Garden to support the Nazis. It can’t happen here? IT ALREADY HAS.

They came, on Saturday, they saw, and they were escorted out, as the home team chanted “fuera”… Once again.

Attempting to re- ignite the alt-right revolution with greasy pizza, local hater Roger Ogden and the Border Town Patriots, Inc. (sic) came down to San Diego’s Chicano Park to host “Patriot Picnic 2.0” promising to bring in a large number of supporters — all 25 of them — to stand up against the hundreds from the Chicano Park Autodefensa.

Unlike their response during the first confrontation last October, San Diego Police Department closed Logan Avenue and placed barricades, insuring that both “Patriots” and Autodefensa members remained separate (keeping the “Patriots” enclosed for a few hours until once again escorted out by SDPD).

Last Sunday night my dad picked me up at the San Diego Airport after my nine-hour, one stop in Houston, flight from Mexico City, and my uncle called over the Bluetooth and started chatting about his recent visit to my city of residence.

“At first I was afraid to be walking around el Centro, but after a few days I got over it.”

And how you laughed at the commercials, because no way on Earth would strangers or friends really congratulate you for driving a Buick?
