“They say that tougher gun laws do not decrease gun violence. We call BS!
They say a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. We call BS!
They say guns are just tools like knives and are as dangerous as cars. We call BS!”
Stoneman Douglas massacre survivor Emma Gonzalez called on Trump and Congressional death-complicit GOP legislators/enablers to tighten gun restrictions in an impassioned speech at an anti-gun rally in Fort Lauderdale Saturday (video below).
We stand with Emma, and we are happy to make this illustration available for free as a high-resolution PDF file for printing placards and posters.

Chicago artist CHema Skandal! is standing with the teachers of Oaxaca and designed these posters in support. “OaxaCAN!” he notes. Multiforo Alicia — a DF cultural center — is printing and distributing them in Mexico City.
Samuel W. Bennett’s GET DATA website features charts/graphs and infographics about current events, sports, news, culture, and history. We thought this log-scale graph of the native (in red, of course) and white population in the U.S. was fascinating, sad, and maybe, just maybe, encouraging.
After disease and war decimated the Native American population from an estimated pre-Columbian 5 million to a low of a few hundred thousand in the late 1800s, the American Native American population has recently approached the pre-Columbian population. The…figure shows that the population of American Native Americans from 1492 to present.
His chart that ranks Tolerance, Racism and Xenophobia in the United States shows we’re lots more tolerant than some other countries, but still have big-ass problems with gays, immigrants and “foreign languages,” not that this is news to us.
It’s OK to say the M word: Mexican.
Recent coverage of a new exhibit at a Texas museum — with headlines like “The Texas Rangers Killed Hundreds of Hispanic Americans During the Mexican Revolution” (screen capture above) and “Texas Finally Acknowledges Rangers Killed Hundreds of Latinos,” — is not only historically incorrect but a dangerous attempt to sanitize history.
Just say Mexican, like this Houston Chronicle headline: EXHIBIT TO SHED LIGHT ON MEXICAN-AMERICAN MURDERS. It’s easy.
This toon appeared originally in the San Diego Free Press. ¡Gracias!

The New York Times was in Paris in 2006 and video’d an editorial meeting at Charlie Hebdo magazine, as the staff brain-stormed a special Mohammed issue.
This video from Bolivia’s Alma Eterna is a couple of years old but the message is timeless. In Ayotzinapa and Ferguson, we are all Guerreros for La Liberatad — fighters for freedom.
