A Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, MX taqueria famous for its politically-inspired tacos has named a taco for Donald Trump.

Owner Humberto Erives-Beto explained Sunday that he was inspired by Trump’s controversial remarks.

“I just made it as most of the world considers him – with lots of tongue, very little brains and I put a bit of pig’s trompita,” said Beto, owner of Taqueria El Tio Beto. (Trompita = snout.)

bryanrecord45In 1959, country singer Larry Bryant released a 45 celebrating his love of Tiquela & Mexican Beer. Music trade magazine Billboard called it “interesting” — not a good sign — and the record never made much of a splash.

But the original 45 (#101 — the first release?) on Santa Fe Records is a $25 collector’s item these days, so Bryant and friends were validated over 50 years later.

And even though his speeling is owlfull, we’re 100% in agreement with Larry’s high opinion of the aforementioned beverages, as well as his love for Mexican señoritas, tacos, tortillas and beans.

When Japanese students at the Q International School in San Diego tried an unlikely All-American Mashup, a “sushirrito,” they were surprised.

At first, they noted, the colors weren’t right, there was no mustard and it lacked ketchup and hamburger. On the other hand, nom nom nom!

Mis amigos Ricardo and Arturo are feeding a lot of hungry people at Arturo’s BBQ on the south side of Mulholland Drive east of the 405 Freeway in Upper Bel Air.

Their six-month-old upscale food truck, parked around the corner from American Jewish University, serves grilled tri-tip, baby back ribs, chicken, half-pound hamburguesas, salmon, and burritos, tacos, tortas, and even ceviche. We visited one morning last week — before the lunch rush started — to see wassup. [Disclosure: They have insisted on treating me to lunch. Twice.]
